While we can't condone violence we do understand the impulse, because 2012 has really been a big year for ubiquitous pop hits that have been impossible to avoid, from the YouTube record-breaking mysteries of "Gangnam Style" to Carly Rae Jepsen's tremendously hooky ode to non-committal flirting "Call Me Maybe" to the inescapable career catapult of multiple ARIA Award winner, Gotye.
