We all know that work meltdowns can be as common as havin' a lil' sob in 'Sophie's Choice', but having a pass agg tiff go public is another thing altogether.

Channel Nine News reporters Amber Sherlock and Julie Snook know this all too well, after their miniature stoush over matching wardrobe choices was leaked earlier this afternoon before becoming a minor viral sensation.

Unfortunately, a lot of 'Straya didn't think it that light-hearted, and Sherlock was taken to task for unfairly harsh on Snook:

Some, however, still saw the humour in it:

And, luckily, the two ladies in question number among those who now find it pretty bloody funny.

"Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast at times," Sherlock said in a statement to 9Honey.

"And as anyone knows, it's never much fun rocking up to work or a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends.

"I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live bulletin."

Sherlock even said that they were relieved their guest, psychologist Sandy Rea, was "around afterwards." Make what you will of her outburst, at least she's got a handle on self-deprecation.

Even Snook - who many Aussies interpreted as a humble victim tonight - weighed in on the now-infamous clip.

"What can I say? Amber and I just really love white!"

(A problematic sentence in isolation, but you know the context).

Snook stressed that they are "very good friends" and they love working together.

So, never fear, mates. All remains calm in the world of free to air news, so do feel free to carry on with your evening.
