2010 ARIA Nominations

Nominees for the 2010 ARIA Awards have been unveiled at a ceremony held in Sydney yesterday and leading the charge with six nominations a piece are perennial ARIA-baiters Angus & Julia Stone as well as Sia, Birds of Tokyo, Guy Sebastian and Washington. Other big winners included John Butler Trio, Tame Impala and Temper Trap who each earned five nods a piece.

The coveted album of the year category will be contested by Angus & Julia Stone (Down The Way), Birds Of Tokyo (Birds Of Tokyo), Sia (We Are Born), Tame Impala (Innerspeaker) and Washington (I Believe You Liar) which seems to be the awards ceremony consensus when it comes to the best Australian album of 2010. All but Angus & Julia Stone have been named as nominees in the J Award’s album of the year category. There’s still time for Angus & Julia yet of course. Read the full list of nominations as well as Artisan winners (congratulations to Kris Moyes who won music video of the year) below…

The 2010 ARIA Awards will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 7 November.
