LCD Soundsystem have offered their fans some eye candy with their new video for "Pow Pow" featuring Twilight actress Anna Kendrick. Directed by David Ayer the clip was funded by MTV as a strategy to focus attention back to the art of the video clip, which seems like an appropriate thing for MTV to do. The network will reportedly continue to fund other music videos to expose lesser-known bands and allow directors to have more creative control in hopes of renewing interest in music videos instead of only visiting MTV for reruns of The Hills. The head of MTV David Gale explained, "From our point of view, we're financing small movies with great talent using music."

The band, who will be returning to our shores as part of the Big Day Out 2011 lineup, don't make an appearance in the film clip, but they did recently announce the release of a live album titled “The London Sessions” available on iTunes from November 9 - which you can listen to at Pitchfork.
