Last night FBi Social hosted the debut live performance from indie covers supergroup, Fan Fiction. Comprised of FBi presenter/Battles muse Shag, Red Riders/Straight Arrows frontman Al Grigg, Flying Foxes' Benjamin Maher, Magnetic Heads' Des Miller and Peppercorn's Luke de Zilva, the boot scootin' quintet covered a pair of Australasian karaoke staples (Crowded House's "Something So Strong", The Church's "Under The Milky Way") and four post-2000 jams from the halcyon days of indie (Arcade Fire's "Rebellion (Lies)", Interpol's "Evil", Modest Mouse's "Float On" and Vampire Weekend's "A-Punk"). For posterity's sake we filmed it all so watch below for some circa '04 nostalgia vibes and Shag's distinctive yet malleable pipes. Dude must kill it on Sing Star. Happy Friday everyone!
