News.

The sheer scale of Damon Albarn's creative output suggests the Blur frontman suffers from mild insomnia. I can imagine him now, rolling around in cotton pajamas emblazoned with his initials, wrestling with his sheets and gorilla plush toys while an open Moleskin taunts him from atop the nightstand. In it are furiously scribbled notes like Call back Snoop and Talk to Alan Moore about comics. Double underlined, exclamation point. "If only I could get all these ideas out!" he screams to the still night air. You get the point.

Anyway after yesterday's announcement of a forthcoming Blur documentary, "No Distance Left To Run", Albarn stays in the headlines by enlisting a stellar list of collaborators for the new Gorillaz's LP, "Plastic Beach".

Speaking with The Guardian, Albarn listed Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Barry Gibb, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, and The Horrors as album collaborators and notes that "Plastic Beach" is the "most pop record [he's] ever made".

Between the documentary and new Gorillaz LP, Albarn is also working on an Opera with Watchmen writer Alan Moore and finishing an album with Tony Allen and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He is also finding a cure for Cancer and re-writing the ancient Greek poem Homer from the point of view of the ship.
