"Turn" is the moody first single from My Disco's Little Joy, the followup to 2008's Paradise and the third studio album from Melbourne's most indomitable minimalist three-piece (interview here).
When we talked to guitarist Ben Andrews back in January, he said the new LP was "8 songs [and] 50 minutes or so of music" and, when asked about My Disco's minimalistic leanings, confessed that it might be even more utilitarian than past offerings: "I think it is both conscious and sub conscious. We have vague ideas that become more and more refined as we write. The music shapes itself it would seem and we just choose which directions we like the most."
Little Joy, recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Joanna Newsom) and produced by Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Silverchair), will be released via Shock on Friday the 15th of October.
