After months of downtime on Twitter Kanye West has returned to @kanyewest with coke-fueled vigour enthusiasm today because he "just wanted to share what's been on my mind..." After his myriad tweets underwent the distillation process one of the most interesting takes from Kanye's lengthy stream of consciousness is the desire to open a school with his past collaborator, filmmaker and skate legend, Spike Jonze.
He wrote:
"Schools should be designed to prep human beings for real life. Spike Jonze and I want to do a Summer school that tries new forms of cuuriculim [sic]... Math classes should teach addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, accounting and money management aaaaaand cut!!! .... UNLESS YOU'RE A MATH MAJOR!!!!
"Kids you should be able to take majors starting in grammar school like how it is at performing art schools."
"Instead of kicking kids out of schools for using there iPhones... why not promote it? Allow kids to use search engines to do test[s]... like the real WORLD!!! Give kids the amount of test[s] they would have in a year in ones [sic] day but they have to get everything perfect... Some kids have better memories than others... what about emotional IQs... what about kids who do bad in school because of how bad their surroundings are?
He makes some interesting points.... Obviously, several of them make zero sense or are completely absurd, but there's definitely something in his argument that schools should educate children about solving real life problems and preparing human beings for real life.
The last time he collaborated with Spike Jonze was the video for "Otis" in which they tackled real life issues such as chest thumping in front of an American flag, high-fiving Aziz Ansari and doing donuts in a Maybach with a fleet of ethnically diverse models. Bless.
