Maybe Battles are big fans of Pinky and the Brain - because, you know, this artwork really looks like a pink brain. Or some sort of viscid masterpiece a 4-year old brings home from kindergarten. That 4-year old later went onto become Ken Done. True story.
These guys are all about the viral marketing campaign - the bizarre artwork for their upcoming album, Gloss Drop, has been materialising itself on billboards in several different locations around the world, including New York, London and Dubai. All hail the pink brain.

If the New York mathemusicians can hook enough gawkers with the pink brain, they're a chance of pushing some units. And at the very least, they'll put themselves in a good position to sell toy brains at their shows.
Gloss Drop is being released by Warp on June 6th.
