Vito De Luca knows club music. As the surviving member of former two man dance troupe Aeroplane (co-pilot Stephen Fasano left the band earlier this year), De Luca has DJ'd to discerning club kids all over the world and produced remixes for the likes of MGMT, Friendly Fires and Grace Jones. Considering his impeccable track record, Pedestrian asked the Belgian purveyor of all things balearic/nu disco/french house to recap the club jams we sweated, danced and peaked to throughout this year. Vito, you have the floor.

1. Gonzales & Boys Noize - "Ivory Tower": The album of the year for me. Perfect match between Boys Noize's beats and Gonzales musicality. A lesson. The movie is really great too ! A total must-have...Personal favourite, the lyrics of "I Am Europe" - "I'm a toilet with no seat, flushing traditions down... "

2. Cassius - "I <3 U SO": They are back REALLY back. This song is a lesson again. It shows us how to push boundaries. After all those years and being the legends they are they could apply a formula and just get rich, but they still explore and innovate. And what they did with the video is one of the most brilliant ideas lately. Thumbs up.

3. Black Van - "Yearning" : Club track of the year. So simple but so efficient. The build up is enormous!

4. Flight Facilities - Crave You : Well, I think I was probably one of the first few people to hear this track and I fell in love straight away. Played it and played it and played it again... Now it's time for them to come up with something new so I can move on...

5. Omar - Feeling You ( Henrik Schwarz Remix ): I love everything Henrik Schwarz does. Except that this one is above the rest of his work. He has this infectious house feel to his drums and the bassline is so catchy. Irresistible.

6. MGMT - Congratulations ( Erol Alkan Remix ): I love when Erol goes in this kind of mood. He does it so well. He gave this song what it was missing, some funk and a 4 to the floor bass drum. Please more like these!

7. Jamie Woon - Night Air: A beautiful song. An hybrid of dance music and soul. There is something unique about this song that makes it hard to talk about. Just listen to it. Please.

8. Brian Ferry - Alphaville ( Leo Zero Remix ) : Leo Zero's remix of Florence & The Machine was a classic for me last year. It is replaced this year by his version of Brian Eno's " Alphaville " I mean, that guitar, the way the groove builds...I love it all.

9. The Chemical Brothers - Swoon ( Lindstrom & Prins Thomas Remix ) : They remind us on this remix who the real kings of disco are. Enough said.

10.Aeroplane - Superstar ( The Krays Remix ): It might sound lame but I'm not charting this one because it's Aeroplane but because I truly believe that this is one of the biggest remixes this year. Have you ever played it in a club? That bassline destroys everything.

We Can’t Fly is out now through Eskimo Records in all stores and digitally through itunes.

1 Jan 2011 Summadayze VIC
