The endearingly geeky Englishmen from Hot Chip have offered fans a first listen to their forthcoming album One Life Stand by way of "Take It In" - a euphoric, sincere and altogether charming slice of white boy soul that's not unlike Barry White and Depeche Mode getting blazed and making out in slow motion. Which is to say it's fucking beautiful.

As always the band's skill lies not in unwinding beats and crafting left field hooks but conveying the most earnest of emotions sans irony. Sample line? "My heart has flown to you just like a dove". It could be a saccharine Celine Dion lyric but in the hands of Hot Chip it's the sound of waking up late on a Sunday next to the one you love. Awwww. Unashamed heart-on-your-sleeve crooning is just the best.

Check it out below...

One Life Stand is out in the UK February 8 (via Parlophone) and February 9 everywhere else (via Astralwerks).

Woot great song. Don't know about Barry White, but yeah getting blazed and making out is close enough.
