Nickelodeon Australia has an awesome opportunity for a talented Programming Assistant to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This role is responsible for all program scheduling implementation and providing support to the Programming & Acquisitions Planner and Multiplatform Programmer in all planning/programming communications.

The key responsibilities of the Programming Assistant role include:

  • Manage the implementation of all programming plans
  • Work with schedulers to resolve any broadcast operation issues
  • Provide administrative assistance to Programming & Acquisitions Planner and Multiplatform Programmer in Ad Hoc duties
  • Enter contracts into a database and ensure the Programming & Acquisitions Planner knows when runs / contract deadlines are approaching
  • Assist in channel forward planning and creation of stunts / themes and seasonal events
  • Act as point of contact for programming and scheduling changes and enquiries (internal and external) and audience feedback
  • Liaise with ad sales on upcoming programming plans and changes, as well as tracking ad sales bookings via sponsorship grids to ensure accuracy
  • Provide assistance for Programming content initiatives including updating channel plans and raising programming purchase orders as required
  • Provide acquisition content assessments in relation to channel fit
  • Provide assistance and cover on channel media-planning
  • Monitor closely key competitors in the market and distribute weekly competitor review reports
  • Under guidance of Multiplatform Programmer, manage and process grids, highlights and EPGs supplied SKY NZ (including amendments) and work with Publicity to create the monthly NZ highlights for SKY.
  • Key liaison with Global feed for all programming and scheduling requirements under guidance of Multiplatform Programmer
  • As required and under direction of Multiplatform Programmer, create monthly Nick and Nick Jr. SKY Go VOD schedules
  • Manage and implement required Foxtel blackouts (IPTV, REPG, Startover etc.)

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1 + TV programming or scheduling experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable (completion of secondary education required)
  • A passion for kids entertainment
  • High energy levels, with a flexible & positive approach to work
  • Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work to multiple deadlines
  • Ability to employ initiative to find solutions and drive efficiency
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to self-manage commitments
