Bjork isn't the most normal of characters so it isn't surprising she likes 'Moomins' so much so she decided to write a song about the weird little creatures.
I see you staring blankly at the screen wondering - A Moomin WTF? Yeah agreed and don't' start questioning your cool status and that you've missed the boat on yet another fad. It's a made up character in the upcoming Finnish children's film ‘Moomin's and the Comet Chase' due out around August 2010. And our dear Bjork appreciates them so much she wrote a song for the movie, ‘The Comet Song' with author Sjon.
An actual Moomin is a troll/hippopotamus/round thing created by Finnish author/illustrator Tove Jansson. They live a carefree live of fun and adventure apparently, which doesn't sound at all bad. They were originally featured in books then went to the small screen giving underlying messages of tolerance and understanding to unsuspecting children all over Finland. Kind of like the a boring cartoon, which tries to teach you to be good. Think Teletubbies.
Still starring blankley? Watch the video, it'll explain it better. (Don't hold us to that).
