Features.

The first round of acts for 2010's Laneway Festival was announced this morning and boy is it killer. In true Laneway tradition the lineup combines Post-Punk legends (Echo & The Bunnymen) with UK up and comers (The XX, Wild Beasts), local heroes (Dappled Cities, Eddy Current Suppression Ring) and a dash of sweaty party starters (Radioclit, N.A.S.A.). Ha.

Whatever happened to having this festival in an actual laneway?

It's gone to shit in my opinion..

Jerome is a greedy greedy man.

Maybe because the last laneway fest you went to was an utter diaster..

The difference is the namesake.. the first laneway festival was epic..
Having the Avalanches close a Melbourne festival is always going to be special in my book..

I don't have qualms with it not being in a laneway but I just wish the organisers would not be motivated by demand and ticket sales to move it to a different venue and change something that was so right in the beginning..

Case in point, Golden Plains.. Even though it has been voted the best festival for the second year running.. the orgainsers have no plans to increase ticket numbers or capacity.. It is the best festival for a reason..

..Oh and with a name like "classyslut", I don't even know why I bothered illustrating my point..
