Armed only with a magical chest of clothes from the future Mars and a freakish sense of direction, Chronicles Of Never's nomadic hero represents another step forward in Gareth Moody's design sensibility. All his aesthetic touchstones are there: a monochromatic colour palette, volume, raw finishes, draped fabrics and a keen eye for structure but with pieces such as a desert proof cloak/turban, which wouldn't look astray on a Mad Max extra, Moody has disregarded wearability for something far more whimsical. In a climate where risk takers are an endangered species, Moody's experimentation is a revelation.
