Not until celebrities get sued for remarks made in its channels does a social networking site become a bonafide part of digital pop culture. Twitter, thanks to Courtney Love your day has come...

Courtney Love who is not averse to ranting on the internet, is being sued for libel by fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir of label Boudoir Queen for disparaging remarks made on Twitter and Myspace.

Simorangkir states that the ex-Hole frontwoman made several "menacing and disturbing" remarks about her and has since accused Love of libel, invasion of privacy, intentional interference with her business, infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract.

Coincidentally Love accused Simorangkir of being a drug dealer, a racist, an unfit mother and a homophobe - it's amazing how efficiently offensive we can be with only 140 characters at our disposal.
