For the Winter 2011 collection Romance Was Born designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales have borrowed from a surplus of influences across the Asian continent: kimonos, pandas, cherry blossoms, cheongsams, Bengali tiger prints, pyjamas, gold dragons... And then there's the usual Romance touches: sequins, silk vs spandex, leopard vs houndstooth, outrageous knits, and a Carmen Miranda head dress knit. Although it sounds like a crazy mishmash, for this collection they have toned down the "zany" and turned up the sexy and the results are pretty darn fabulous. Try a breathtaking Spanish black lace sweater top with an amazing scoop back or perhaps a beautifully cut leopard-and-leather mini dress. There's plenty to choose from.

Dragon-slipper-inspired-pumps = awesome
good work! - Nov 25, 2010 at 12:50pm
Hands down my favourite Romance collection so far. Love that it's a bit more restrained. I'd sell my mum for the floral pant suit in the last photo or any of the amazing black lace looks. Bravo.

I wonder if "Lil Black Book" is eating her words...

@Missy hey Missy, sorry to say no I'm not "eating my words". I stand corrected. I've so glad that like Claire (and me as well as the 15+ comments on my blog that agree with my pov) have the common sense to like a label not because of the label and brand name rather for their quality high end designs which this clearly does not live up to.
As I said in my original post there are some pieces which I love (eg, black lace pieces & sunflower print pieces) however I still don't see how tweed or leopard print is remotely asian. Not my cup of tea

are you joking?

How good are those prints! The sunflowers!!

Cute as.
oh shit. - Nov 25, 2010 at 05:31pm
every item with the black lace is off the charts. Onesie with leopard print and lace? want it.

RWB always deliver! Loving all of the prints, especially the sunflowers and ochids... Oh and I wouldn't mind those leopard print/lace pants either. Amazing!

I'm sorry to burst the bubble but the photography in this is pretty awful. And the collection isn't doing much for me either, the one with the lace and coral and pearls some time ago was good and it's been downhill from there.
