Karl Lagerfeld Unveils 2011 Pirelli Calendar

Following Patrick Demarchelier's effort in '08, Peter Beard's in '09 and Terry Richardson's in '10, the eagerly awaited 2011 Pirelli Calendar, this year helmed by Karl Lagerfeld, was unveiled at a ceremony held last night in Moscow. Aside from the usual reactions this calendar elicits - like contemplating how an Italian tire manufacturer managed to become synonymous with high fashion (you could ask the same of a French tire manufacturer and high cuisine) or copious amounts of jealousy/arousal/indifference, Lagerfeld's grand theme of "mythology", the tasteful black and white nudity and the urbane approach to modern day Gods and Goddesses (Julian Moore IS a Goddess or at least some low level, Earth-dwelling deity) is pretty refreshing when compared to Richardson's porn-y effort last year.
Roll call? Of course. The calendar features frequent Lagerfeld muses/collaborators including: Bianca Balti, Elisa Sednaoui, Freja Beha Erichsen, Isabeli Fontana, Magdalena Frackowiak , Anja Rubik, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Lakshmi Menon, Heidi Mount, Erin Wasson, Daria Werbowy, Iris Strubegger, Garrett Neff, Baptiste Giabiconi, Sebastien Jondeau, Jake Davis and actress Julianne Moore.
