News.
Matt Jordan is a self described "Despotic Queen of Shoes", a high heel fetishist, fashion blogger and muse. Blogging under the moniker Imelda (taken from Imelda R. Marcos, the fiery widow of former Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos) Jordan is more agreeable than his namesake but no less acerbic.
In keeping with the progressive ideals of Imelda R. Marcos, earlier this month Jordan announced the first offline alignment between an Australian fashion blogger and a brand. Collaborating with high end retailer Jean Brown, Jordan unveiled plans for a window installation in their Brisbane store titled 'The Imeldific: 20th Century Shoe Design'. The installation opened today (see image below).
Of course (as we've previously explored) the blogger/brand alignment is nothing new; Jak and Jil has shot a campaign for Lane Crawford, The Sartorialist did the same for DKNY and Bryan Boy inspired a Marc Jacobs bag for heaven's sake. What Jordan's window installation does prove however, is that when it comes to the fashion curve, Australians aren't (too) far behind.
