The inaugural Pedestrian.tv Blogster Awards powered by Huawei has come to a close. Not only has it given us the chance to highlight a few of our favourite local blogs and ‘social media identities’ (a title that you most certainly should not add to your CV) but has also helped us and our readers discover a trove of new talent hiding behind custom Wordpress fit outs and Tumblr themes.

Blogs and Tweeters were selected through a process of submission and public nominations which were then shortlisted to our final nominees. The finalists were put to a public vote with the top 3 highest voted blogs judged by the team here at Pedestrian HQ according to strength of content, originality, tone of voice, photography and creativity. Every blog and finalist had it’s merits and it’s never easy choosing a ‘winner’ in creative pursuits.

The winners in each category receive a mentorship with some of our favourite media powerhouses including Russh (Fashion), Time Out (Food), Semi Permanent (Design & Photography), Channel V (music) and unfortunately for the winner of the Tech/Media/Culture category, this very website. All finalists and the King/Queen of the Tweet also receive bragging rights for the next 365 days.

The most important thing to know for anyone who missed out on a spot on the winners dais, shortlist or even just the nomination deadline is that the awards are currently undergoing an Xzibit pimp my ride style makeover and will be back bigger, better and blogger next year. But enough with the preamble, here are the winners...
