The Golden Globes are taking place in L.A. as we speak so we thought we would give you the lowdown on the winners thus far.

In a Bold and the Beautiful face-off against herself, Meryl Streep beat out Meryl Streep to win her 10,000th acting related gong for her performance in "Julie And Julia". Both Meryl Streeps are thought to be happy with the win. In the 'Best Director' and 'Best Motion Picture: Drama' categories the two favourites were former husband and wife James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow. Cameron was, of course, nominated for his 3-D extravaganza Avatar, while Bigelow was nominated for critical juggernaut The Hurt Locker. Avatar emerged victorious in both categories so let's hope Cameron's win doesn't sour the relationship.

Toni Collette represented the Aussie contingent, winning the award for 'Best actress in a TV series - comedy or musical' for her role in The United States of Tara. In her acceptance speech she said; "Gee thank you so much. This is a real pleasure. The last time I came here 15 years ago, I was on the loo and missed my whole category." So Australain right?

In other awards, Mad Men won Best Television Series/Drama for the third year in a row, meaning it has won a gong for every series so far, Grey Gardens won for best miniseries and Chloe Sevigny won an award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a polygamist in the series Big Love. She joked; "I want to share this with my sister wives..."
