Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is a forthcoming Disney film that stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jake Gyllenhaal's torso, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina. Also, did I mention that Jake Gyllenhaal's torso will feature prominently? I did? Cool.
I say that because we haven't seen Gyllenhaal do swash buckling leading man quite yet but based on this trailer...Jake and his bulky torso fit the part well. I mean, his two most famous roles are a Rodeo Cowboy with ambiguous sexual preferences and a teenage basket case who talks to a six foot rabbit named Frank. But considering he's neither Persian nor Russell Crowe, Gyllenhaal's pretty much telling Casting Directors everywhere to go suck a fuck on this one.
For those who aren't as nerdy as us, Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time is based on the video game of the same name and though Super Mario Bros. still stands up to repeat viewings film adaptations of video games are usually terrible cough cough Halo The Movie cough. Still, Prince Of Persia's Producer Jerry Bruckheimer managed to turn a Disney ride (I repeat a Disney ride!) into a gazillion dollar franchise so expect Persia to rake it in at the box office. Based on the trailer alone we're pretty damn excited.
