You may recognise him as one-half of defunct 'anti-folk' duo Moldy Peaches. A few solo albums and an art exhibition later, indie polymath Adam Green has made his cinematic debut in a 70-minute feature film titled The Wrong Ferrari – shot entirely on an iPhone.
Featuring a handful of Green’s actor/musician friends, the cast includes Macaulay Culkin, Jack Dishel, Alia Shawkat, Devendra Banhart, Sky Ferreira, Cory Kennedy, Jeffrey Lewis, and Pete Doherty.
The film, dubbed 'a screwball tragedy', follows a band’s surreal adventure as they’re transported into the fantastical world of Super Mario, apparently aided by their ketamine-induced state.
Green says the movie, which he shot while on tour, is about "turning 30 and the concerns that come with that. Entering the next phase of life, whatever that may entail; that’s the simplest idea I was trying to communicate.”
